August 20 Update -- On Closer Inspection....

There are a number of interesting aspects to this latest discovery. For starters, this cigar box is metal, with a hinged glass face.


The stamp/seal reads across the top reads, "Class A Act of 1917."

This is what remains of the label on the bottom:

If I understand the text from the side label correctly, these cigars could not be sold for less than four cents nor more than five cents apiece. So I'm assuming one could buy a pair for nine cents, or a whole dozen for anywhere between forty-eight and sixty cents. Math!
