We decided to chip the plaster off the wall opposite the bar room, once we realized it was stone beneath the plaster. The beam -- a nice surprise -- will remain exposed as well.
Here is the wall before final cleaning today. The "clean spot" was done when the archway was installed. At that time we were only going to leave a section of stone exposed.
